![]() Grace-Marie responded to architects of the Massachusetts health reform plan today at a briefing sponsored by the Alliance for Health Reform and the Kaiser Family Foundation. The briefing,"Massachusetts Health Reform: Bragging Rights and Growing Pains," was broadcast live on C-SPAN2 and is now available as a webcast. Click here for Grace-Marie's PowerPoint presentation. CommentsTim at 05/22/2008 15:41:27But what is Ms Turner's solution to the worsening health care crisis in MA and the nation? A growing number of people, including the majority of the public and most "experts", believe that the only workable solution that will guarantee affordable quality health care for all is to enact improved and expanded Medicare-for-All. Does Ms Turner support that common sense, tried and tested, successful model as the solution? Sadly, I think not. To my knowledge, Ms Turner and the Galen Inst. believe that health care should continue to be treated like a profit-generating comodity instead of as a public good and a human right for all. To learn about meaningful health reform that puts patients before profits visit http://www.HealthCare-Now.org and http://www.GuaranteedHealthCare.org And for MA state reform visit http://www.MassCare.org
By the way, where does the funding for the Galen Inst. come from? anonymous at 05/27/2008 23:22:46"Does Ms Turner support that common sense, tried and tested, successful model as the solution?" Did you really just say that? You are no longer aloud to comment about healthcare because you DO NOT KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. I do not want to hear one more person give thier ignorant comments and opionions about healthcare any more. Medicare is collapsing. Doctors that are required to accept it hate it. Why do they hate it? Because it pays about .36 cents on the dollar to the physician. Why does it only pay a third to the physician? Because there is a govt budget involved and when the government is involved the only thing they can do is ration the care and coverage away or lower reimbursements to save money. Some how I can sense that you will respond back and say something emotional because you most likely operate that way. Ohh they children! The poor children. Ohhh the poor 47 million that are uninsured. 40% of the uninsured are young and healthy and could buy a very good plan for less than $100 a month. Well why do they not buy it? You may ask. Because beer, ciggarets, clubbin, taco bell, and everything else is a much more attractive use of their money. "Tried and Tested, successful"? Are you kidding me? Of course you are not kidding me you really think that another gov't program or expansion there of is the solution. You do not think that becuase you have researched it and looked at the facts and numbers. You feel that way because it feels like the compassionate thing to do. Why dont we just go ahead and become a bunch a Socialist? And after that lets talk about whether or not we should become a Communist nation. Because then the government that operates like a well oiled machine can take care of us all. And why is that a good thing? That's a good thing because the American people are all stupid and unable to make good decisions. We need "experts" to do it for us. Oh yeah and those horrible for profit companies, which by the way is the way that 99% of all businesses operate, want to take all of our money and leace us in the dirt. We should outlaw profit. Yeah, that;s it. Let set our system up like that, like maybe Hitler did with Germany. That way when some evil company makes money they have to give it to Hitler so he can take care of us.... Im tired of being politically correct. Your wrong and you do not know what you are talking about so you are no longer able to talk..The previous comment was written by me, Matthew Heath from Bham, Alabama at 05/27/2008 23:24:11by Matthew Heathanonymous at 06/18/2008 09:46:30Matt Heath...its spelled allowed...don't define ignorance for someone else until you've proofread your own comments.Matt Heath at 06/18/2008 12:34:00My misspelled word/words doesn't define ignorance. It defines that I spelled a word wrong. Ignorance is a case of being uninformed or uneducated on the specific topic of healthcare, in this case. You could possible say that I am ignorant with spelling or that Microsoft word didnt pick it up. Either way. My point still stands. I looked over my comment and as far as I can tell I spelled everything correctly. I hope it is to your standard. Add Comment |

I want to Thank Ms.Turner for being the honest voice on this awful law called chapter58.The facts she stated are true.We do not have "affordable" insurance but we are forced to buy into insurance with high dedutables and we must fill out masshealth forms that sign our property over to the state. The fact is when they asked the question on health insurance it was worded "would you want everyone to have health insurance?" This is why so many answered yes.The media will not report on this because they recieve advertising dollars from insurance industry. The state legislator are bought by the insurance lobbyist. The federal government is bought by the insurance industry. We cannot fight their wealth. The Commonwealth Connector and Health care for all are bureaucracies that do not care if we get affordable insurance.Jon Kinsdale head of Commonwealth Connector worked for Tufts insurance for 20years.John McDonough head of Healthcare for all is going to work in Washington DC.This Massachusetts health care law is a sham most get free or next to free care and they want the rest of us to pay for it.Two years later, most of us cannot afford their insurance so they are being fined. The state of Massachusetts has made beibg uninsured a crime.Thank You so much again Ms.Turner we do not have enough people willing to speak out for what this law is really doing to the middle income residents.
